Urban rail transit system refers to a transportation system that uses vehicles running on fixed guide rails in cities and is mainly used for urban passenger transportation. In the Chinese national standard "Urban Public Transportation Common Terms and Terms", urban rail transit is defined as "the general term for fast and large-capacity public transportation that is usually powered by electric energy and adopts wheel-rail transportation".
